Congratulations BHTC on winning the Make Your Mark Regional Enterprise Final 2008!
On Monday 17th of November over fifty-five thousand students in over one thousand schools and colleges took part in the Make Your Mark Challenge. The thought behind the challenge this year was for participants to create an entrepreneurial idea inspired by the values of the Olympics and Paralympics.
Of the groups that entered, one hundred and twenty of these were from the West Midlands, twenty-two of these were shortlisted to present their proposal at Banks Stadium, home of Walsall Football Club on Friday 21st of November.
With their outstanding plan and successful business pitch the Bristnall Hall team won the day, becoming regional winners for the second time. This is the first time that a team has achieved this feat in the history of the national competition!
Well done to our winning team who will now visit King’s Place in London on the 9th of December to compete against the other 11 regional winners in a bid to become national winner 2008 – the winner of which will have the opportunity to represent England at the final of the Global Enterprise Challenge.

It is with deep sadness that the staff at Bristnall Hall Technology College would like past teachers, students and ex-students to know of the death of our much-loved colleague Gill Harris. Gill passed away on 6th August after a long battle against cancer. A celebration of Gill's life was held on 26th August where about 400 mourners turned up.
A line dance and rowing fund raising event to remember Gill has been organised on 14th November for students and staff both past and present. There will also be various stalls, a raffle and other activities.
If you would like to make a donation please visit the Just Giving page, set up in memory of Gill Harris, and help us reach our fundraising target. Alternatively donations can be given directly to the charity at the Ovarian Cancer Action website.
Not as high as in 2006 and 2007 but nevertheless, many students worked hard for their success.

Well done to all concerned but we expect to do better in 2009.
Congratulations to Jack Henderson on representing the Midlands in the 200M Medley and 100M breast stroke at the National Swimming finals.
Further success here could lead to an England call!!!
Well Done Jack!
