Pressure from fashion |

Today's fashion is very important, you can get beaten up, bullied and even called a "scruff" if you're not wearing up to date clothes that have got a top brand name such as: Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Rockport. A list like this could go on forever. Surprisingly there's people and children out there who don't have these names on their clothes, shoes, watches etc. Typical Teenager and Influences Today the average teenager wears tracksuit-bottoms, jeans, a t-shirt or jumper, hooded top and a baseball cap. These clothes can be influenced by rappers, who wear baggy trousers and hooded tops with base-ball caps. Other influences can be from footballers e.g. David Beckham who wears a mohican which made 1000's shave their hair off. Michael Jordan also influences fashion by promoting Nike. There are male teenagers that wear make up, really baggy trousers and have black hooded tops. These teenagers like to listen to music that can be described as nu-metal such as Linkin Park. I've come to the conclusion that clothes have changed because music has changed. Teenage boys today adopt similar clothing to the people in sport and music who they admire. They choose these as their role models in fashion rather than their parents. Youth culture remains very important in fashion and that's how it's always going to be.
